Downtown Guided Walking Tour
Please join us on the third Saturday of each month, September thru July, to learn more about the town's hidden historic treasures.
Meet outside the Schoolhouse at 10.30a.m. for the 90-minute tour led by one of our knowledgeable docents. There's no charge - although donations are always very welcome!
We'll open your eyes to a whole range of fascinating buildings you might never have noticed before, including the Boat Houses (1927), the Bessie Love compound (1926), Paloma Theatre (1927) and the Daley Double Saloon (1928).
If you can't wait for one or our regular guided walks, then come by the Schoolhouse during normal opening hours and pick up a free leaflet to help you discover these downtown landmarks at your own pace. Or purchase a copy of our illustrated booklet, "Walking Around Historic Downtown Encinitas", for just $2.25.
STOP PRESS! We have recently acquired six iPods to assist you on your self-guided tour around downtown Encinitas. The 18-stop tour, narrated by Mike Hansen of 94.9FM fame, lasts approximately one hour. Pick up an iPod from the Old Schoolhouse, Friday or Saturday between 1:00pm and 2:30pm, for a 3:45pm return.
Don't forget your camera!
