Downtown Guided Walking Tour
Please join us on the third Saturday of each month, September thru July, to learn more about the town’s hidden historic treasures.
Meet in the 1883 Schoolhouse at 10:00 a.m. for the 90-minute tour led by one of our knowledgeable docents. There’s no charge – although donations are always very welcome!
We’ll open your eyes to a whole range of fascinating buildings you might never have noticed before, including The Boat Houses (1927), the Bessie Love compound (1926), La Paloma Theatre (1927) and the Daley Double Saloon (1928).
If you can’t wait for one of our regular guided walks, then come by the Schoolhouse during normal opening hours, pick up a free leaflet to help you discover these downtown landmarks at your own pace and sign out a audio player for a self-guided tour. Or purchase a copy of our illustrated booklet, “Walking Around Historic Downtown Encinitas”, for just $2.25
NEW! Download the Free App “Otocast” on your smart phone, allow it to access your location, and the Encinitas Historical Walking Tour will take you on a self-guided tour
of the sights! Maps, historical description, audio and photos are also
available to view on the app.
